Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. She is best known for her starring role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick won an Emmy Award in 2010 and she also won a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. After the seventh season, Sedgwick was awarded an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The series ended on August 13 in 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role in the show in the role of Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Madeline Wuntch on Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who was an therapist for speech and family, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV Venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick has stated that she is Jewish and has said that she attends Passover seders.
