Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris born October 20 1964) is an American politician and attorney who is the 49th and current vice president of the United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female to be elected vice president and she is also the most powerful female officer in the history of America. She is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. Additionally she served as a United States senator representing California between 2017-2021. Harris was born in Oakland and graduated from Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Following her first job as an Alameda County District Attorney, Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was appointed district attorney of San Francisco. Harris was elected Attorney General of California in 2010 and reelected in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Sánchez in the 2016 Senate elections, becoming the 2nd African American woman, and the first South Asian American, to be senator in the United States Senate. As a senator, Harris advocated for health care, federal de-scheduling and legalization of cannabis as a pathway to citizenship of undocumented immigrants, as well as the DREAM Act which bans assault weapons. She was well-known for her direct questioning of Trump government officials in Senate hearings.
