Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10, 1949. She is an American investor and speaker as well as consultant. In 2001, she established The Corcoran Group in New York City. The company was sold to the brokerage to NRT for $66 million. Then, shortly after she resigned from the company. Corcoran was one of ABC's initial Shark investors, has been a part of every episode of Shark Tank. As of February 2020 she had signed 53 deals. The most significant of these was a $350,000 investment to Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran, who was the second child of 10 from a Catholic family with a low-income, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. moved between jobs throughout Corcoran's childhood. At times, her family relied on deliveries of food for free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father being an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with disrespect and disrespect, particularly after he had been drinking. Corcoran struggled in school and later learned that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at an Catholic primary school within her area and began the high school year at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran was proficient in several courses during her first year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
